The Ibex Gaming League is called league

20 Feb 2026

Ibex Gaming League is officially returning to its original name and identity.

Ibex Gaming League brand evolution

Since our launch, the Ibex Gaming … brand has stood for Swiss, community-driven esports across Counter-Strike and Rocket League. In 2025, we introduced the “Ibex Gaming Circuit” label to reflect our seasonal structure better and explore opportunities with selected publishers. While the circuit framework delivered a clear competitive path from Open Division to Premier Division, the new name did not resonate as strongly with our players, teams, and partners as we had hoped.

Why are we reverting to “League”

Over the last few months, feedback from teams, talent, and viewers has been consistent: “Ibex Gaming League” feels clearer, more authentic, and better aligned with how our competitions are perceived. The original rationale for the “Circuit” rebrand has also become less relevant, as our rules, structures, and positioning have matured under the established IGL framework. By reverting to the Ibex Gaming League, we are strengthening our identity, simplifying communication, and embracing a name that already carries a competitive history from previous seasons and splits.

What stays the same

All existing structures remain untouched:
- Premier Division and Open Division in Counter-Strike 2 and Rocket League continue as planned, including the ongoing Winter Season 2026 under the new/old name.
- Formats, match days, and competition rulebooks (General, CS2, and Rocket League) remain fully valid under the Ibex Gaming League banner.
- Broadcasts, media coverage, and our focus on Swiss esports talent development continue without interruption.

The only change is branding: naming, visuals, and communication will transition from “Ibex Gaming Circuit” back to “Ibex Gaming League” and the familiar abbreviation IGL

IGL: more than just a name

The IGL acronym has always been closely tied to in-game leadership, and that connection reflects what we want this league to be: a place where players, teams, and staff can take the lead in shaping Swiss esports. With the return to Ibex Gaming League, we are doubling down on our promise: professionally organised leagues, transparent structures, and long-term support for the scene—by players, for players.

All upcoming materials, broadcasts, and platforms will roll out the Ibex Gaming League branding over the coming days. Teams and partners will receive updated brand assets and guidelines directly.
